'I'll Be Me'

5 Sep 20144
Two years ago, country music legend Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and told to prepare for the worst. Instead, Glen and his wife went public with the diagnosis and set out on a 'Goodbye Tour'.

'Glen Campbell I'll Be Me' tells the story of the shows, and a great cast of contributors includes Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift and Edge.

'The audience being there somehow triggers his ability to access that other part of his brain... which is incredible.'

So sad to see Glen Campbell in the twilight of his days, but he has given us so many warm memories. The collaboration with Jimmy Webb and the three "town songs" that came from it..."Galveston", "By the Time I Get to Phoenix"...and "Wichita Lineman", were absolutely breathtaking. Oh to be in the studio when those were recorded. It's lovely to see Edge and others who were influenced and moved by his music to pay tribute to such a gifted musician.
